AVECO TV Automation: Expanding our global reach with new technologies in new markets
Come to see us at booth No. N2138
Throughout the Americas, AVECO continues to add new markets and new functionality. AVECO is now in Peru and Argentina after adding Brazil and Colombia last year.
In Peru, AVECO is delivering an ASTRA cable head-in ad-insertion system of a significantly large scale. New bells-and-whistles have been added to ASTRA for this unattended, ad-insertion only workflow. AVECO now has a solution for one operator control of 50+ ad-insertion channels at one location. Additional sites can be integrated for file sharing and centralized operator control.
And in Argentina, they are installing what is becoming a popular solution in South America: Standard ASTRA MCR, an out-of-the-box solution for broadcasters of a handful of playlists with both File based and Video workflows. It is a pre-configured at the factory system that AVECO installs and trains on-site. Standard ASTRA MCR is available with all devices on AVECO's compatibility list (updated and posted on their web page under Downloads). This standardized solution uses the same hardware but is a condensed version of AVECO's ASTRA MRC (Master Control Room), which is built to customer specified requirements, devices and Traffic systems. As with all ASTRA solutions, both are available with full redundancy.
ASTRA NS (News Studio) provides one operator manual-assist to control all devices in a production studio: From cameras and robotic pedestals to audio switchers, graphics and video sources with live MOS integration to ENPS, iNews or Octopus.
ASTRA MM (Media Management) is either part of the other ASTRA products or sold as a stand-alone solution to move media in File based or Video workflows.
All AVECO Automation solutions are built on the same platform: Core ASTRA software, industrial PCs, the QNX operating system, and the open Sybase SQL database. With QNX you can hot swap software and have software modules run in memory protected address spaces. It is safer to work with an AVECO on-air system. The PCs are 4U servers that host device control, database, automation software and GUI: QNX native, Windows, and Web. A mirrored system has a second 4U server where playout is identical frame-by-frame with the main server and the database is updated regularly. A serial switchover unit connects both automation servers to devices. Fail-over to backup is automatic within the vertical blanking period. Additional single or mirrored servers are added as Orbiters, an ASTRA automation architecture for large, multi-channel operations.
With over 18 years in the TV Automation business, AVECO s.r.o. has remained under the same ownership since 1992 in Prague, Czech Republic.
In the fast changing world of TV, AVECO continues to be a steady partner whose proven solutions and support keep the company growing: adding customers and adding functionality at its customer’s facilities. Their footprint in the Americas grew again last year.
